Cyclone (centrifugal) separators, separate dusts deposited with the discharge of the air flow from the grinding plant in a simple manner. This products can be separated from the air stream with pneumatic conveyors.
A mixture of dust and air is blown laterally in a round vessel (separator) and thus set in rotation. By centrifugal and gravitational forces, dust particles migrate outwards and downwards. They leave the separator at the bottom outlet, where they are usually discharged via dust collectors and air-tight rotary valve extractors. The purified air leaves the centrifuge at the top by a centrally arranged clean gas or dip tube.
For the operation of a cyclone separator, a good seal on the dust outlet side is critical, since separation is only possible without air entry at this point. The connection to tight, closed dust collecting bins is not possible, so tight fitting components such as rotary valves or double flap valves are required.
