In this case, they are used for explosion decoupling in the feed and discharge channels of a grinding system. The shutdown controls of the valves react to pressure increases within the system or to the triggering of explosion relief valves. Tietjen uses rotary valves as type-tested protection systems for explosion decoupling that are resistant against ignition and flame puncture.
