New solutions for ultrafine grinding of aquafeed and pet food: As part of a cooperation agreement with NEUMANN & ESSER Process Technology GmbH (NEA), Tietjen Verfahrenstechnik GmbH will assume responsibility for global sales of the NEA impact classifier mill under the name ‘TICM’ (Tietjen Impact Classifier Mill). The TICM ultrafine grinding concept is specifically conceived for the requirements of aquafeed and pet food production, and is capable of handling the greatest challenges where grain size is concerned.

As part of a cooperation agreement with NEUMANN & ESSER Process Technology GmbH (NEA), Tietjen Verfahrenstechnik GmbH will assume responsibility for global sales of the NEA impact classifier mill under the name ‘TICM’ (Tietjen Impact Classifier Mill). The exclusive agreement relates to aquafeed and pet food applications.

Optimised combination: abilities and competencies of both partners complement one another

NEUMANN & ESSER Process Technology GmbH has over the last one hundred years gathered experience in mechanical process technology at their headquarters in Übach-Palenberg, Germany. The company offers its customers around the world a comprehensive range of services: from grinding and separating systems to complex plant engineering. Their portfolio includes pendulum mills, impact classifier mills, separators, filters and sifters. At the spacious NEA test centres in Germany and Brazil, they carry out experiments with customers’ grist materials. This type of testing means they are able to guarantee that the layout of the mills and systems for the planned production plant will function correctly.

For several years, the company has been contributing their proven impact classifier mill (ICM) to the collaboration with Tietjen. Typical applications for the ICM impact classifier mill are found in the fields of chemistry, pigments, powder coating, minerals, coal, foodstuffs, confectionery, cosmetics and pharmacy.

As a specialist in grinding, Tietjen makes use of the mills in a wide range of industries – including the manufacture of aquafeed and pet food. The ‘TICM’ impact classifier mill enables Tietjen to expand its product portfolio, while its expertise enables it to offer solutions for the major challenges faced by the pet food and aquafeed industries.

Technological benefits

The TICM ultrafine grinding concept is specifically conceived for the requirements of aquafeed and pet food production, which means it can handle the greatest challenges where grain size is concerned. The TICM combines efficient grinding with precise sifting, all in one machine. As a result, it is possible to manufacture particularly homogenous end products with high levels of fineness (100–400 µm) and a precise separating cut of up to 99%, while maintaining a high throughput. A further unique feature is the optimised mill chamber design. It ensures damage-free processing with a minimal increase in grist temperature. This means that vitamins and microcomponents are preserved. In addition, the one-step griding process allows compact plant design, and can be integrated into existing plants as a dedicated ultrafine grinding assembly with excellent results.
