Social and societal commitment are the pillars of our corporate culture. We want our process engineering projects to make the world a better place, and we support numerous social projects local to our site in Hemdingen. Commitment is important, and that rings particularly true for climate protection. Here you can learn all there is to know about Tietjen’s commitment – to people and our environment.
The man-made climate crisis will become a climate catastrophe if we do not drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We want to take decisive action against climate change, and we have an ambitious plan to reduce CO2 emissions.
Promoting electromobility
As an innovative company, we consciously focus on electromobility. We want our employees to get to work in a CO2-neutral manner. Our headquarters is located in the countryside, far from public transport. That is why we provide our employees with e-bikes so that their work commute is environmentally friendly. We have more cyclists than motorists – and this is something we are certainly proud of. Our fleet of company cars is also “going green” with a focus on electromobility. This will enable us to reduce our own CO2 emissions.
Ecological responsibility in grinding technology
At Tietjen, ecological responsibility and economic success stand closely side by side. We want to conserve resources and continuously reduce how much energy our machines consume. In one of the most energy-intensive industries, we rely on efficiency, high quality and our machines’ long service life that has yet to meet its match in the market. “We see environmental protection as a mission for the entire company”, says Thomas Runde, CEO of Tietjen. When designing plants, minimum energy consumption is ensured by combining an optimal set of components. That is what our employees work towards with all their expertise and great commitment – every day.
Taking social and societal responsibility is very important to us. That is why we have been committed to charitable projects in the region and beyond for years with a focus on children as well as youth sports. We have put together a small selection of the various projects, institutions and associations we support:
