This is precisely why Tietjen Verfahrenstechnik operates its state-of-the-art test center at its company headquarters in Hemdingen. Here, customers can test their products under realistic conditions and define the optimal grinding technology for their application.
For many decades, Tietjen has been developing solutions for the grinding of a wide variety of bulk materials – from animal feed and biomass to food. This expertise flows directly into the test centre. Equipped with a pre-crusher, a versatile hammer mill, additional process machines such as a tumbling screen from GKM Siebtechnik or air classifier from Neuman & Esser, and the corresponding process measurement and analysis technology, the test center offers ideal conditions for grinding and characterising products in a targeted manner and determining the appropriate plant parameters.

Technology Partners
Thanks to our collaboration with our partners NEUMAN & ESSER and GKM, our test center is equipped with modern classification and screening technologies for practical trials. The air classifier from NEUMAN & ESSER precisely separates particles into fine and coarse fractions using an air stream. The three-deck tumbling screen from GKM enables the simultaneous classification of materials into multiple particle size fractions, ensuring efficient separation of different grades.
Small and Pilot Series
Tests can be carried out on both a small scale and a pilot scale. All relevant process variables such as throughput, fineness, energy consumption or temperature development can be measured under reproducible conditions. Thanks to an extensive product and test database, we can provide valuable information on feasibility in advance and suggest various machine configurations.
Clearly Defined Process
The process is clearly structured: after jointly clarifying the objectives, we analyse the raw material in our in-house laboratory, define the appropriate mill and process combination and then carry out the tests with our process engineers. The results are documented in detail and then evaluated together – as a basis for the design of your future plant. On request, you are of course welcome to be present in person during the test.
