From organic waste to biogas

Separate and dewater waste efficiently

Sustainability and climate neutrality are becoming increasingly important. In this context, the circular economy is a concept that views waste as a resource and demands that it be reused. Today, for example, organic waste such as food waste, goods with damaged packaging or other organic waste are resources for fermentation in the biogas plant.

In terms of process technology, a distinction is made here between two types of waste:

  • packaged organic waste
  • unpackaged organic waste and other substrates

For packaged waste, the separation of organics and packaging is the most important process step in waste management. This is exactly where Tietjens separation mill, the press screw and our turnkey plants come in:

The DRM separation mill is used to unpack and separate packaged organic waste.

Separated foreign matter such as plastic packaging from organic waste usually still contains sticky liquids. For cost-efficient thermal disposal, however, the foreign matter should be as free as possible from liquids and thus light after separation.
