Tietjen’s solution for hammer mills

Particle size measurement

Website-OPC-Software

The Online Particle Size Controller OPC is a measuring device for the continuous determination of the particle size of free-flowing bulk materials of all kinds.

The OPC is integrated directly into the grinding process of the hammer mill. Regrind is fed into the OPC via a bypass and the particle size is determined there using a camera. The measurement data is then evaluated in the OPC software, which is available in several languages. If the particle size deviates from the previously defined specification or if there is a screen break, the OPC software informs the operator.

This automated and integrated measuring process increases throughput because the grinding process does not have to be interrupted during the analysis. Due to the continuous analysis, the quality of the ground material is also improved.

Effective monitoring of the grinding process

Your Advantages

Effective monitoring of the grinding process

  • Detection of screen breakages or damages in the mill
  • Detection of wear on beaters and screens
  • Output of two individually definable alarm values in the case of  deviations from the target particle size distribution, e.g. if the  proportion of coarse or fine particles is too high
  • Real-time measurement for immediate reaction

Increase of the plant availability

  • Optimisation of maintenance intervals due to particle size changes during operation
  • Predictive maintenance of the mill possible

Suitable for many applications

  • For free-flowing bulk materials of all kinds
  • Purge air connection for cleaning, can also be used for greasy  and sticky products
  • Return of the analysed sample into the process or discharge  for traceability possible
  • No recalibration required when changing products or formulations

Simple integration into the grinding system

  • Can be integrated into both new and existing systems
  • Simple connection in a vertical pipe via flared flange
  • Evaluation via own electronics
  • Full operability via web interface
  • Integration into the process control system possible
Each system is different
Diverse applications in dry grinding require individual solutions
