Production of 115,000 Litres of Raw Alcohol per Day – Produced with Tietjen Mills
Stock is an internationally renowned company and is one of the leading alcohol producers in Europe. In 2023/24, a new modern distillery with extensive infrastructure was built in Lublin, Poland. Around 40 million litres of raw alcohol are produced there each year from various types of grain and fresh corn. These are then processed into well-known alcoholic drinks.
3 NDK 9.1S Wet Hammer Mills Process Freshly Harvested Grain
All the grain for this plant is milled with 3 Tietjen NDK 9.1 S machines. When selecting the grinding system, Stock focused on:
- the required throughput
- the lowest possible system costs
- minimised operating costs
- The highest quality standards with high economic efficiency of the plant
These requirements were met by wet grinding with the wet hammer mill NDK, in which water is added to the grain during the grinding process. This method does not require ATEX approval, which reduces both cost and process engineering effort without compromising on safety.
Reliability and Durability Thanks to Stainless Steel Design
As grinding is an essential system in the entire production process, reliability and durability were equally important. The NDK 9.1 S is made of stainless steel, has special addition interfaces for water and therefore fulfils these requirements perfectly. The project was successfully implemented thanks to the company’s extensive experience from other ethanol projects.
The decisive factors were:
- Wet grinding of grain at up to 19 tons per hour
- Reliable and durable stainless steel grinders
- Experienced partner in the design of dosing and grinding systems with many references.
Stock and their experienced planner Biotechnika are very satisfied with the result:
“Together we were able to realise a very good grinding system that meets all our requirements.”
