Organic grain meal, Germany

Three decades and still as good as new

Food

The food industry is constantly developing new applications and adopting consumer trends. But new trends do not always mean a new mill. For 36 years, Gut Rosenkrantz in Neumünster has been using our VL high-speed mill to grind organic cereals into bakery meal.

Milling solution for organic cereal meal

When milling cereals and intermediate products in the food industry, the most important thing is careful and reliable milling. Each grain, as well as grain intermediates and by-products, has its own particularities in terms of use and processing. The food industry is constantly developing new applications and adopting consumer trends. But new trends do not always mean a new mill. For 36 years, Gut Rosenkrantz in Neumünster has been using our VL high-speed mill to grind organic grain into bakery grist. In this way, the high quality of our mills ensures optimum milling results and consistent baking qualities for decades to come.

Sustainable organic product processing at Gut Rosenkrantz

Natural and organic products are becoming increasingly popular. Since the 1990s, the “Handelsgesellschaft für Naturprodukte Gut Rosenkrantz” in Neumünster has been selling various organic products such as organic food and feed grains and ground products. In order to be able to produce the best possible products, special attention must be paid to every technical detail right at the beginning of the process chain. To achieve the desired qualities, the grain structure and fineness achieved by milling are of decisive importance. For this reason, the company has relied for years on a Tietjen VL 4 hammer mill to grind their organic grain.

Grinding a wide variety of products and recipes with the high-speed mill VL

The hammer mill VL is the ideal universal mill for a wide range of applications at lower throughputs. Whether coarse grinding of compound feed or fine grinding of pet food and fish feed or in food production: as a true all-rounder, it can also be used for grinding chemical components, salts, spices, and natural products such as wood.

Durable grinding solution from Tietjen

For 36 years, the Tietjen hammer mill in Neumünster has been in operation to grind grain. The VL 4 mill was built in 1985 in our Hemdingen plant and sold to the company at that time, Mühle Thode, for grain milling. After the “Handelsgesellschaft für Naturprodukte Gut Rosenkrantz” took over the operation, it mills organic grain for the company.

As our VL is ideally suited for grinding dry and free-flowing bulk materials, it has now been grinding organic oats, organic spelt and organic wheat into meal – with the highest quality and safety – for years. The mill is fed via a dosing chute and the grist is sucked to the silo via a pneumatic discharge after grinding.

We are pleased to be able to contribute to sustainability in process technology with our long-life mills and wish Gut Rosenkrantz a long lifetime for their Tietjen VL.

Food

Whether as puree, casserole, baked or boiled – potatoes are an important energy supplier for the body due to their high starch content and a whole range of vitamins, trace elements and minerals. For this reason, they are also processed for many other applications in the food industry. The extracted starch, for example, is also used in many everyday items. Typical examples include the glue, paper and textile industries.

Aquafeed

In the fish meals offered, fish species are used that are of little relevance for human consumption, e.g. fish rich in bones such as anchovies. During production and loading, impurities such as foil residues, metals and large bone fragments can hardly be avoided. To clean the product from these, J. Müller has relied for years on a VDK4 hammer mill with upstream cleaning system from Tietjen.
